Classic indigo character powered by 24 rope dyeing units and DyStar Liquid Indigo technology — ADM is the 12th mill globally to use this advanced dyeing process.

With 140,000 meters capacity per run, temperature-controlled dye boxes, and automated feeding systems, our indigo denim delivers consistent depth of shade with authentic character.

Indigo rope dyeing is the foundation of authentic denim. ADM’s indigo dyeing division combines advanced rope dyeing capability with precise process control to create denim fabric with genuine indigo character, consistent shade depth, and dependable quality at commercial scale. Equipped with 24 rope dyeing units across 2 machines and a capacity of 140,000 meters per run, ADM is also noted as the 12th mill in the world to use Liquid Indigo directly from DyStar Germany.

The temperature-controlled dye box environment and fully automated feeding system ensure batch-to-batch consistency that global brands and retailers require. ADM’s research and development team works closely with evolving denim trends to deliver innovative indigo shades and constructions, available in both stretch and rigid fabrications across a broad weight range. Every fabric batch is tested against international quality standards before dispatch.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Indigo does not chemically bond to cotton — it adheres physically, sitting on the outer yarn layers rather than penetrating fully. This creates denim’s defining characteristic: the ability to fade and develop wash-down effects with wear. No other widely used dye behaves this way on cotton, which is why indigo denim has anchored global jeans production for over 150 years. ADM’s rope dyeing facility in Karachi produces authentic indigo constructions using DyStar Liquid Indigo technology across 24 dyeing units — the 12th mill globally to adopt this system.

DyStar Liquid Indigo is a pre-reduced liquid formulation that eliminates the need for hydrosulfite in the reduction process — reducing chemical consumption, improving dye bath stability, and lowering effluent toxicity compared to conventional indigo powder. ADM adopted this technology across all 24 of its rope dyeing units, with fully automated feeding systems and temperature-controlled dye boxes. As the 12th mill globally to use DyStar Liquid Indigo, ADM’s indigo dyed denim delivers classic authentic character with a measurably lower chemical footprint than conventional rope dyeing.

Rigid denim is woven entirely from cotton with no stretch fibres — producing the firmest hand, most pronounced fading, and most authentic character for raw denim, heritage styles, and workwear. Stretch denim incorporates LYCRA, XFIT, T400, or elastane for recovery and comfort — essential for fitted silhouettes and women’s denim. ADM produces both across its indigo dyed range — including LYCRA, XFIT, 4-way stretch, and bi-stretch options — at its Karachi weaving facility, giving brands the full spectrum from authentic rigid heritage construction through to high-performance stretch denim in a single supplier relationship.
