Artistic Denim Mills Listed Among Better Work Pakistan Participating Factories

Compliance · March 25, 2026

Artistic Denim Mills Ltd (ADM) is now listed as a participating factory in Better Work Pakistan, the joint workplace improvement programme of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

For ADM, being listed in the programme is part of how we want denim manufacturing in Pakistan to be measured. Quality, capacity, and export volumes matter, but so does the way the factory operates day to day: how workers are heard, how workplace systems are reviewed through independent assessments, and how feedback supports continuous improvement.

Supporting Responsible Denim Manufacturing in Pakistan

Pakistan's textile and apparel exports sit at the centre of global denim supply chains. As brand sourcing teams add stricter expectations around traceability, compliance, and worker welfare to their factory shortlists, the conversation has shifted away from capacity alone and toward how that capacity is run.

Better Work Pakistan addresses this directly. The programme combines independent factory assessments, advisory support, training, and structured worker-management dialogue.

For ADM, the listing aligns with how we have been operating. Being listed in the programme commits us to that same independent scrutiny on a regular cycle.

A Step Forward for People, Partners, and Customers

A strong denim mill is not only about looms, dye lines, and export numbers. It is also about how decisions are made on the floor, how grievances are raised and resolved, and how worker input feeds back into management.

Our participation in Better Work Pakistan reinforces ongoing work to:

  • Maintain ethical workplace practices aligned with national law and ILO core standards
  • Strengthen worker-management dialogue and grievance mechanisms
  • Improve transparency across our operations for buyers and stakeholders
  • Contribute to a more competitive textile sector in Pakistan
  • Build long-term value for customers and supply chain partners

These priorities map directly onto what global brands, retailers, and conscious end-customers now look for when shortlisting denim manufacturers in Pakistan.

Strengthening Pakistan's Textile and Garment Sector

Better Work Pakistan brings together factories, brands, workers, government, and the ILO under one programme. Its central premise is straightforward: better working conditions and stronger commercial competitiveness reinforce each other rather than compete with each other.

ADM has long worked from this position. The future of Pakistan's denim and garment sector depends on quality, compliance, innovation, and the people who actually make the product, treated and supported in a way that reflects that.

Continuing the ADM Commitment

ADM remains committed to advancing responsible denim manufacturing in Pakistan. Inclusion among Better Work Pakistan participating factories adds independent third-party verification to that commitment.

The work continues from here: delivering high-quality denim while running a manufacturing operation that holds up to outside scrutiny, supports its people, and earns the trust of the brands sourcing from it.
